Zenless Zone Zero is now fully out and available to play on PlayStation, mobile, and PC. It’s another game from Hoyoverse, the masterminds behind Genshin Impact, and ZZZ is a lot of fun. There are a large number of playable characters available from day one, and a player has shared a “really cool” ability exclusive to melee Agents in Zenless Zone Zero.
If you are hopping aboard the bandwagon, we have you covered with guides for the game. We have a tier list ranking the best Zenless Zone Zero Agents, and we also have all of the codes currently available to redeem for July 2024. There are free Twitch Drops rewards you can earn right now, too, and we also have a guide for how to unlock errands so you can get in-game rewards.
The game is different from Genshin Impact, but it still has the feeling of a Hoyoverse experience. There is a large assortment of Agents in the game, including a freakin’ bear, but some of the Agents with melee weapons are able to pull off an amazing ability exclusive to their capabilities with a sword.
On the Zenless Zone Zero subreddit, user Siri2611 shared gameplay footage showing “Anby can deflect bullets while running“.
The OP wondered if this is a trait exclusive to Anby, but, as per numerous replies in the Reddit thread, Soldier 11 can do the same. In addition to Soldier 11, Ellen can do it, too, and she does it by “twirling her scissor halberd,” which also “deflect lasers and shotgun blasts, but can’t deflect artillery or blasts that have warner markers on the ground and can’t deflect melee”.
In addition to Anby, Ellen, and Soldier 11, the ability to deflect bullets is also capable by Nekomata. According to the comments, this skill is only possible for Agents with bladed weapon/sword-like weapons. Piper cannot do it because her weapon is too “unwieldy,” and Anton and Koelda cannot do it either as, despite being melees, they use a piledriver and hammer.
As a skill exclusive to few, it is “really cool,” as expressed in the many replies. Some of the comments make comparisons to Raiden from Metal Gear Solid, especially thanks to Anby rocking white hair.
Although this skill has been in the game for years during its betas, not everyone is aware as it is hidden in the tutorial handbook: Work Bench > Handbook > Dashing and Parrying Bullets. It’s good to know, and it is something to be aware of when choosing your Agent.
For more ZZZ, we have an explanation of how the game’s crossplay works, and we have a guide for the 1.0 banners release schedule for new characters.
