While the Galactic War rages on in the background, Super Earth High Command continues to provide the frontlines with new toys to make each mission slightly easier. And this time, though higher-ups have yet to confirm its development, the latest Helldivers 2 leak hints that a new Orbital Illumination Flare stratagem is in the works.
As its name suggests, the alleged upcoming stratagem calls down a flare that can attract groups of enemies at once—especially useful if your squad gets bombarded with multiple Bug Breaches or Bot Drops. You can also use it to illuminate dark areas, making your surroundings much easier to see and navigate. Finally, Reddit leaker Tier5NPC claimed that it activates upon being called in, only has a 30-second cooldown, has unlimited uses, and lasts for 25-30 seconds each time.
However, they did note that this isn’t the final build of the Orbital Illumination Flare stratagem, and it could still see a few tweaks before its eventual launch. Of course, much like the alleged arrival of the notorious Helldivers 1 bug, the Impaler, you’ll need to take this Helldivers 2 leak with a grain of salt. Arrowhead Game Studios has yet to confirm this stratagem’s arrival and likely won’t anytime soon, so you’ll have to remain patient until they do, if at all.
But with the developers constantly providing updates, fresh content in the form of new enemies, stratagems, and mission types should arrive sooner rather than later.
