- Make your way through the Dragon’s Pit in Gravesite Plain and defeat the Ancient Dragon Man boss
- Enter the Foot of the Jagged Peak area
- Travel south to the dragon corpse then west into Charo’s Hidden Grave
Charo’s Hidden Grave is an entirely optional area that’s quite easy to overlook as there are no major story beats to prompt avisit. It’s located roughly in the same place as the Cerulean Coast, except it’s a level higher going by the local topography of the area. It’s distinctive for its red flowers that show up on the map.
Reaching the area is a bit of a trek as you can’t simply gallop straight in from Gravesite Plain or even the Cerulean Coast. We’ll walk you through the best and easiest route to reach the region, as we found out during our time reviewing the expansion.
Route to Charo’s Hidden Grave
Our first goal is the Dragon’s Pit cave located up on the plateau in the east of Gravesite Plain. To reach the cave, you’ll want to travel southeast from the Castle Front site of grace in front of Castle Ensis, sticking to the left-hand path and making your way upwards. As you climb, you’ll pass the Pillar Path Cross and Pillar Path Waypoint sites of grace. If you spot the NPC Igon lamenting someone or something called Bayle and see a bunch of dragon statues, you’re on the right track.
Head inside the Dragon’s Pit. Press on until you reach a large drop and a huge bowl of what appears to be blood below. Make your way down to the ledge opposite the bowl then jump down into the abyss. When you land, go forward and take on the Ancient Dragon-Man mini-boss. Go through the door at the back and continue on through the cave, grabbing the Dragon’s Pit Terminus as you go, until you reach the outside.
Hop on Torrent and ride forward up the hill to enter the Foot of the Jagged Peak. From here, you want to sneak past the sleeping dragon (or take him on) and take the path on the right heading south. The next area is pretty hostile with mobs and even lightning sheep, so best to stay on Torrent and keep sprinting south until you reach a massive dragon carcass. At the foot of the carcass is the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion site of grace and the dragon priestess NPC.
Take the path right of the communion disc that’s spewing red smoke. It leads you onto the dragon’s body. Follow it up past the claw until you spot a sea of red flowers below – welcome to Charon’s Hidden Grave. Safely jump onto the ledge below then steer north west. You’ll get the on-screen area message when you reach the opening between the two large rocky hillocks.
